Deepening the Cathedral-Cincinnati Connection

On Saturday, May 17, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., we will begin the work to connect our extensive outreach mission work with the United Nations' Millennial Goal to "eradicate extreme hunger and poverty." George Lakey, an internationally known advocate for non-violent social change, will help us explore how our service to others fits within the larger context of poverty and systemic economic justice.

This workshop is open to all member volunteers who work in the various cathedral mission ministries. Our goal is to gain insight into the lives and needs of the people we serve by reflecting on our own experiences so we are better able to plan future outreach and social justice initiatives.

Additional Opportunity

On Friday, May 16, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., George Lakey will also be leading a discussion to look at our ministries within the context of systemic change so that long-range strategies for these ministries can be developed.
