Cathedral in the City

"God is in the midst of the city ..."–Psalm 46:5

A cathedral is the bishop’s church, the center of a diocese, a sacred place in the heart of a city. We are striving to be that and much more. Dean James Diamond set forth his vision for our cathedral in September 2000.

Dean Diamond sees Christ Church Cathedral as a center for excellence in worship, for renewal, spirituality, education and civic ministry. A cathedral should be a center of compassion and justice that translates into mission. And our cathedral must become a center of advocacy, sanctuary, healing and reconciliation.

We invite you to join us as we work to fulfill the vision Dean Diamond articulated and we share.
