The Cathedral is interested in maintaining a strong parish focus for its Cathedral community, serving a broad range of interests and involvement. The Cathedral community wants to feel connected to the Cathedral and to each other through meaningful participation in our worship and programming. To that end, we have given attention to developing the Community Life of the Cathedral.
Community Life Strategy: We will work together to strengthen and dedicate our Cathedral community as broader, welcoming, inclusive and passionate about serving God.
This strategy will focus on:
Pastoral Care. Develop and deliver an effective system of pastoral care. Pastoral care issues are of critical importance to this Cathedral community, as we are yearning for contact in regard to personal well-being issues.
Environment. Create a welcoming social and physical environment. It is important for not just the people to be welcoming but also for the physical environment to be user friendly. Membership, hospitality and ushers have made great strides in establishing a warm greeting. How do we make further connections in such a large space?
Youth. Work to further develop programs for youth and young adults. The program is recently revitalized with a new Director who is building a meaningful program to meet the needs of our youth.
Communications. Enhance parish communications to support our Cathedral community and its ministries and programs. Broaden the range of communications and level of repetition, with particular attention to media use, in order to reach more of the community and to promote transparency and efficiency among ministries and programs.
Communal Life. Offer a broad range of opportunities for Cathedral community participation in communal life. The goal is to provide personal fulfillment, to increase individual investment in the cathedral and to enhance relationships and involvement, thereby serving God more meaningfully.
