Our Spirit Takes A Journey

Living Liturgy in New Ways

"...churches that offer diversity in their worship are more successful in meeting the needs of a broad range of individuals." – Canon Nancy Turner Jones

Countless are the ways to praise God through worship. Yet in the Episcopal Church, tradition says that there are common elements that are essential to every public service. Does that mean all services need to be the same? No – different worshipers have different needs for a fulfilling worship experience. Some seek worship that is less formal or less scripted; others want the congregation involved in more or different ways; while others see the presentation of the Word or music in contrasting styles.

Journeys: Living Liturgy in New Ways is an initiative that will give the congregation opportunities to experience with – and experiment with – diverse forms of worship that are in keeping with the Episcopal tradition. The new liturgies are services as outlined in our Prayer Book's Order for Celebrating the Holy Eucharist. They are held periodically in the Centennial Chapel and run concurrently to the 10 a.m. service on Sundays.
