Give Bountifully to Live Bountifully
The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work. –2 Corinthians 9:6-8
Christ Church Cathedral kicked off its annual stewardship campaign in late September with a mailing to all members of the congregation. The campaign will run through November 2. The theme for this year comes from 2 Corinthians 9:6-8, which emphasizes the need to sow bountifully.
Karen Taylor, a member of the stewardship committee, outlined two goals in a presentation to the vestry last month. The first is to increase overall giving above last year's campaign by 10%. The second was to secure a pledge from every person who call the cathedral home, no matter the dollar value of the amount pledged.
Kevin Allender and Anne Jaroszewicz are the two other members serving on this year’s stewardship committee.
