Slocomb Reed joined the cathedral staff as director of youth ministries in March of 2011. A life long Episcopalian who grew up in the Diocese of Southern Ohio, Slocomb brings to the position his experience from working with Procter Center summer camps and other organizations that minister to youth.

Slocomb holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy and Spanish from Emory University in Altanta, Georgia. He is fluent in Spanish and has made mission trips to South America where he served as a translator. He also spent a year in Ecuador teaching English and other subjects to primary school students enrolled in an Centro de Estudios Interamericanos (CEDEI)–Center for Interamerican Studies.
